In this article, we will cover how to split a check into multiple funds and how to edit and view split checks.
|Please note: Check Splitting is only supported for Check Deposit|
During Step 3 of Check Deposit, Allocating checks to individual donors, you will select which funds the gift was given to. To split the check amongst multiple funds:
- Select +Add another to add an additional Fund to the transaction
- Enter the proportion of the total you want to give to that fund in the amount field. The first amount field will automatically adjust based on the amount entered in the second fund amount. A running total is shown at the bottom of the Fund list.
- To remove a Fund click Delete next to the line you want to remove.
If the allocated amount does not match the total for the check, you will receive a warning.
- When ready, click Save & Next to move to the next transaction
|Tip: Split checks can be edited until the allocation is completed. Once allocation is completed the amounts cannot be changed, only the Fund and Reference Fields can be edited.|
Viewing a Split Check
Split Checks are listed in the transactions view just like normal transactions. You can tell if a transaction is split when (split) is listed next to the Fund name.
Hovering over (split) will show the amounts and Funds the transaction has been split across.
When you view the payment details you will be able to see the original payment references, along with the associated transactions.
If the send receipt option is selected when the payment is made then the payer will receive a single, combined receipt for each split check that is entered.
