A "Tickets-only" event allows for bookings where you don't need to know who the specific ticket is for. This is especially useful for when a single person needs to purchase multiple tickets for an event and makes the experience much easier for someone to buy multiple tickets at one time. With this method, the registrant will not be required to enter the personal details for each person attending.
The difference between a “Classic” event and a “Tickets-only” event
The main difference is that with the ticketing option, no personal information is captured for each attendee outside of the email address required for the person making the booking. A second difference is that payment via credit card is the only option for Tickets-only events. There’s no payment by invoice option.
Since it is now much easier for someone to order bulk tickets, we've applied a limit of 20 tickets per booking, to reduce the risk of significant errors. If you do have any specific needs to raise this threshold, please submit a request to let us know.
Set up a Tickets-only event
On the first page of the new event setup, make sure you select the option “No, I just need to know the number of tickets sold.” The only main difference to your event set-up page is that you won't see an Attendee Info section. Everything else is largely the same.
You can always change this setting at the bottom of the event detail page.
On the event registration page, attendees only need to indicate the number of tickets they want to purchase, and put in an email address to receive confirmation of the tickets.
The payment option
Payments for ticket only events are by credit card only. We do this to enable a quicker registration process and to ensure you know that every person attending your event has already paid when they arrive at the door.
